With a view to continuous improvement, each year the school invites two international experts, practicing architects and/or researchers, to attend the presentation of project workshops, to exchange views with the teaching teams and the student community, and to discover productions from the first year of the bachelor's degree right through to post-master's courses.
Each workshop entrusts one of its students with the task of presenting, in just a few minutes, the themes studied, the pedagogical choices made and the productions of the semester. The "Grand Tour", a commented review of the workshops, is followed by a report and debate, giving the school's teachers the opportunity to take a step back from their own practice.
The guest experts for the Grand Tour of the first half of 2025/26, which takes place on Friday December 19, are Caroline Poulin and Paolo Carpi.
Caroline Poulin is a graduate architect from the Ecole d'Architecture de Paris La Seine and the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). She was Visiting Professor at TU Wien between 2022 and 2024, and has been Visiting Professor at ESTP since 2023. She is a consultant architect for the Marne département and a member of the Commission du Vieux Paris.
Caroline Poulin co-founded AUC, a Paris-based architecture and urban planning practice, with Djamel Klouche and François Decoster in 1996, joined by Alessandro Gess as a partner. AUC was awarded the "Grand Prix National de l'Urbanisme" by the French Minister of Housing on December 15, 2021, for its body of work. In July 2023, AUC received the UIA's Albert Abercrombie Prize (prize for Urban Planning and design).
Paolo Carpi graduated from the IUAV University of Venice in 2004. He is one of the founding partners of the architectural firm Baukuh; he is also co-founder of the international architectural magazine San Rocco.
In 2019, he will receive his doctorate from the University of Genoa. Paolo Carpi has taught at Genoa's Faculty of Architecture, Milan's Politecnico and various international workshops. He joined Ensa Paris-Est in September 2025-2026 to teach project design in the Licence 3 apprenticeship program.
